The Slanket vs Snug Rug

We ordered one of each so we could give you an honest review.

First things first the packaging seems pretty good with both of them being supplied in plastic clear plastic bags with zips.

On first inspection The Slanket feels heavier and perhaps more durable but The Snug Rug feels softer.

When we first took the two Blankets with Sleeves out of the packaging there was quite a difference in the finishing. The Snug Rug had quite a few loose ends in the bag and lots of bits. So much so we had to hoover up afterwards!
Although this may be just a one off with this particular one the finishing off just wasn’t as good.

The Slanket had a few bits but not many and there were no loose threads on the blanket itself.

The verdict on this part goes to the Slanket!

The design is very similar on both with the Snug Rug having a small pouch for a phone or similar.

We are a bit concerned on the longevity of the Snug Rug as bits are still coming off it and not sure at the moment how it is going to live up to being thrown into a washing machine a few times.

VERDICT SO FAR

The Snug Rug
gets the vote on the feel of the material as it really is very soft and feels more like a bath robe than a blanket. The finish though is not great and the bits of thread coming off it is a slight problem. Whether the feel of the material will be sustained is hard to tell at the moment but if it looses that softness then it would lose a major benefit.

The Slanket
Overall the Slanket is better quality but isn’t as soft to touch and feels more like a blanket. It is very warm though and there are no bits coming off it. Long term this would be a better bet.

Almost 1 month on, and both of them have had a wash and came out unscathed. The Snuggie doesn’t molt as much now and is a hit with one or two of the girls. The Slanket is great and with the reduced pricing gets top marks from most people who try it!

2 months later things have evened out a bit more. The Slanket is still a favourite but the Snug Rug is still a big hit with the girls, purely because it is softer to touch.

With Winter approaching fast it will be interesting to see which one gets the final vote!
